Who: runway look 9 of Oscar De La Renta Fall 2011
Why: It's a strapless silk faille bodice with a sweet bow and a softly textured swans down tea-length skirt. The bodice is a subtle way to do color, since the shade can be described as anywhere between a neutral touch of slate grey, a subtle and understated shade of sea glass blue or even a mixed grayish mint.
Even though it is formal and elegant I don't quite see coats and tails with this gown.
I love this look for a bride at an early cocktail wedding, where you can still dress up formally but with higher hemlines than gala. Or I'd love the look for a formal evening affair where there is no bride to take the spotlight away from.
