Famed designer Carolina Herrera was tasked with the honor of creating Bella Swan's wedding gown for the big upcoming "Twilight wedding" in the new movie Breaking Dawn Pt. 1.
It was reported that Herrera actually collaborated with the author of the Twilight series Stephanie Meyer, who wanted a gown that would convey "innocence and romance". It is no secret that Meyer's Mormon faith was also an influential factor in the modest gown's design. Twilight star Kristen Stewart commented that while she loved the gown, she did not collaborate in its design.
Herrera also collaborated with wedding gown producer Alfred Angelo to bring the Twilight and celebrity designer style to the masses in the form of their gown style no. 8400.
In a nod to Twilight groom Edward Cullen's upbringing, the gown has a decidedly old world and romantic look. Key details of this satin, bias gown include long lace trimmed sleeves and a lace trimmed illusion cutout back. The neckline is a wide and soft v with princess seams running down the length and the slightest ruching along the bodice for shape. Satin covered buttons accent the sleeves and run all along the back of the gown.
