The American Music Awards were last night. Here are some of my favorite red carpet looks!
Selena Gomez here in a shimmery platinum gown with slit and dropped waist sash, looked great and age appropriate, for a pop star anyway! The color plays off her creamy skin tone and the hair and accessories play off the subtle flapper vibe of the low slung detail. The only thing that detracts from her great look is perhaps her date, Justin Beiber, who somehow manages to look much younger than he is, and somehow even more petite and dainty than Selena!
Taylor Swift almost manages to make my list. She sticks to the formula that she likes: a sparkly shimmery gown with clean lines, minimal accessories and fresh hair. Her twist her is that she straightened her famously curly golden hair.
Hilary Scott of Lady A also always seems to make my list! I think she dresses her volupt figure extremely well in classic styles that flatter but don't reveal too much. Her simple sweetheart neck column gown here reminds me of a starry night!
Alanis Morisette is someone who has been out of the spotlight for a while. Here she returns looking lovely in a black belted high low hem gown with an athletic neckline. I love that this dress flatters her normal weight figure. She is neither extreme of stick thin nor is she voluptuously curvy like Hilary Scott above, though she does have her curves. Instead she looks athletic and fit while still being feminine. Her side braid was also a nice touch to the classically pristine look.
Heidi Klum also looked great in a silvery cutout dress. With a slip, this dress would make a great rehearsal dinner dress or going away outfit.
Jenny McCarthy looked cute in a plum colored sleeved dress with asymmetric neckline and full skirt. If she had switched out the booties for a ladylike heel she would've had a real winner! Otherwise, this would be a great and cute bridesmaid look.
