Hi everyone, last night was the Golden Globes so today I'm doing a fashion rundown of my favorite wedding inspired looks from the red carpet. Please CLICK HERE to see all of my Golden Globes 2012 fashion recap.
I decided to do a series of posts rather than one big one since I want to start better categorizing and especially want to start categorizing most flattering looks based on body types.
The pictures are all from different sources and not all of them noted the designer so apologies for that.
One of the biggest trends of the nights was the surprising lack of color! Many stars chose "non-color" nudes, blushes, and ivory whites. The result was a red carpet full of washed out women! While the nude look can look great, matching the dress color to your skin tone and blonde hair does nothing for a girl's complexion.
Anyway, on to my personal favorites.
Amber Riely looked stunning in a rouched sweetheart red gown with ruffle detail. Plus size can be challenging to outfit but the rouching and sweetheart are very flattering here. Also note that proper undergarments, not just support wear but a good bra that lifts the bust also helps define her figure. She hit it out of the ball park!
Andie MacDowel and her daughter Rainey Qualiey both looked stunning! Andie was age defying in a slivery sheer one shoulder gown with light side rouching. Rainey also looked great in a teal brocade sweeheart mermaid style. I give her points for choosing a stunning color to compliment her skin tone but I think the dress itself needed a little extra sparkle or something. Also while the shape of the gown is great, note that the bust itself doesn't seem properly tailored to her body and as a result seems to accentuate the smallness of it; she would have benefitted from some better tailoring!
