I came across this amazing gown (via this Snow White and the Huntsman wedding inspiration). It is actually two pieces: a tulle, sequined bolero with round neck and ¾ length sleeves worn over an organza matelasse strapless ball gown with pickups and jewel waist detail.
I love how this looks so much, I think I may have another new personal favorite!
After a bit of digging I was able to find the runway picture. It is actually from Monique Lhuillier Fall 2012 collection, style name "Keepsake".
Another reason why I like this gown: if perhaps you admired Kate Middleton's wedding day ensemble but weren't sure all the lace and long sleeves were right for you, even though there was something you liked about her look, why not try a look like this instead?
I think it is a more modern and real-life wearable version. The ¾ length sleeves are much fresher, the sequined top much more modern than a lace version, and over all this style of illusion is much sheerer (and if you like to think of it that way, much sexier!) Best of all it is not an exact copy-cat but rather a true "inspired by" look.
