I think the sheer (illusion) neckline is one of the prettiest, especially when it provides a great back view. An illusion v back is tops for me, especially since my favorite style for illusion necklines is sleeveless, which lends itself so well for v backs. For your viewing pleasure, some of my favorites.

This Mon Cherie gown has a fantastic beaded and lace embellished back and I love how the hem from the v is embellished as well. While I enjoy cap sleeves on a gown, I don't like the back view on this gown.

I love the sheer overlay of this Mon Cherie gown that has just a hint of lace applique. I think it looks very clean and fresh with less applique.

A super-cute shorty gown by Benjamin Roberts. The front features a wide illusion scoop neckline which turns into a v back with buttons that go down the satin bodice and skirt. It also looks like there is just a hint of ruffle on the thin hem of the v neckline.

This We Love Yu gown has the deepest v in this photoset since it goes so very down low on the waist. It is a sleeveless style with a draped open back with just the slightest lace panel underneath.

This Moonlight gown features something none of the other gowns have. The bodice has a full lace overlay, which extents to the illusion neckline, making this the only gown in this photoset with a full lace illusion neckline.
