The notched collar is a bit of a peculiar entry in our bridal dictionary. It ends up actually being a mix of two elements as opposed to being strictly one or the other. It basically features a rounded neckline with a "notch" or a v-shaped slit cut into it. This offers a bit more interest than a plain rounded neckline at the same time that it offers a bit more coverage than a regular v-neckline while at the same time retaining all of its flattering and elongating elements. It usually exposes a bit of collarbone so the rest of the neckline should be kept clean and uncluttered of jewelry.
The best example I've found lately is this Steven Birnbaum lace A-line gown
