Floral Accessories

I don't even remember how I came across this Wedding Chicks shoot but it is absolutely stunning.

Real florals crafted into wedding day accessories: wrist corsage, hair adornment, necklace, waist sashe and even a garter!  Impractical as it may seem, it will surely keep you smelling sweet all day.

I think my favorite is the baby's breath statement collar below.

Ribbons

This is one of my favorite editorials ever, from Martha Stewart weddings, that focuses on personalizing your wedding day look.

Blue by Enzoani "Concord" gown and blue ribbon.  I'd recognize that gown anywhere!  This is probably my favorite gown ever and my favorite picture of it ever.

Ribbon bracelets.

Integrate ribbon into the sash of the gown.

Ribbon arm candy.

A proper topper that matches the dress.

Feathered head piece.

Colored opera length gloves!

Cute sheer coverup and flowers in her hair.

Floral neckpiece, especially cute with a flowered gown.

Sprinkle butterflies on your gown.  Someone at Martha has a thing for butterflies, even though it seems just a tad juvenile to me.

Icelandic Princess

This is perhaps unusual inspiration but I couldn't help it.

A sheer illusion gown bedecked with flowers and a feathered headpiece instead of a veil.

Love this "like an English rose" dress. It's from a 2007 photo shoot so unfortunately I don't know who makes the dress.

And I couldn't help it, I love these other gowns also!  They are most likely from different designers but I love how the photography captures the floral theme so consistently so you almost think they are all from the same collection.

Luscious Colors

I love the range of colors from almost nude blush to lavender.  To me they are so dreamy and ethereal.
These are from a 2008 Jenny Yoo ad campaign, but I love looking through online archives since I discover things like this.
(In case you can't tell, I really love whimsical flowers and greyish/dusty light colors.)

Wedding Chicks Tangled Photoshoot

I've said it before and I've said it again that I don't like to re-blog things that have been done recently and I like to concentrate more on just style rather than the whole wedding aspect.  However I saw a glimpse of this Tangled Photoshoot from Wedding Chicks via Pinterest and I knew I had to see more.  It was so perfect in its execution of style that I couldn't resist.
As their story goes, the inspiration was fairy tales and the movie "Tangled" and while it is a shoot and not an actual event, I love the commitment to the full execution of the look.  It makes everything work and come together.

I love the rustic yet refined ambiance, the full explosion of not just flowers but filling greenery that is so lush and full yet remains this side of over-the-top, the little gilded touches that make it elegant and even  the way the hanging and trailing florals mimic the Rapunzel lengths of the bride's hair.

Most of all I love love love the execution of the bridal style, the night gown like dresses and the flowers woven into the hair.  From what I can tell, three gowns are pictured and all are flowy and airy easy to wear and move in A-line shapes.  The gowns mimic the setting: simple and rustic with refined additions.  Everything is long and flowy, just like the hair.  She looks like a freshly picked fairy princess!

White On White

I love everything about this capture, how the bouquet looks both slightly deconstructed with the hydrangeas but also sculptural with the dinner plate dahlia, to how the petals of the flower and striped ribbon echo the pleats and rouching on the gown.

Dream Dress Friday: A Floral Confection

Who: Melissa Sweet Mira gown

Why:  For sweet florals and fun little details.

This is a strapless gown with a light floral motif, which is not too heavy or cloying.  Flowers are interspersed at the slight sweetheart neckline and down the skirt. 

The slight mermaid cut of the gown is just curvaceous enough to make you feel feminine but not uncomfortably body conscious.

Fun details include a flower bedecked bow at waist and funky feathered hem, which adds just enough funkiness to keep this look flowy, elegant and modern but not too frou-frou.

A long and elegant chapel length veil is the icing on the cake.
