Gwyneth Paltrow looks shimmery and stunning in Calvin Klein sheath. I can see this as an easy beachy look. Doesn't she look comfortable? (It helps that she has the body for it!) And despite that it is pretty low cut, it doesn't gape so you wouldn't feel too exposed.
According to the media Hailee Steinfeld helped design her puffy Marchesa gown. How cute does she look with the illusion neckline and sweet blush pink color? At 14 I think it's refreshing to see someone embrace an age appropriate look and choose to look nice rather than inappropriately "sexy". This is a cute look for a junior attendant but I also see something very bridal about it, no need to tweak it.
I though Camila Alves was so refreshing (with Matthew McConaghey). A true ball gown is growing rarer on the red carpet and you wouldn't expect it to look as stunning as it does in somber black but something about it just works so well for me that I loved it. You can easily recreate this look and style in white.
Now, bridesmaids!
I liked Erin Andrews in a silvery one shouldered Kaufman Franco. Despite that it could be a bridal look as is, this can easily be a bridesmaid look whether you take it as is for a city wedding or in a bold tropical color for a beachy event.
The last and one of my most favorite all around looks of the night is Rhea Durham (with Marky Mark himself) in Naeem Khan. Even though it looks to be a one-piece gown I think solid color with sparkly pattern on top is different and refreshing. If you did mix-and-match separates, this could be a way to let your bridesmaids choose what styles work best for them.
Today I introduce a different category: dressing the pregnancy body!
Maybe you are a pregnant bride or a pregnant bridesmaid, but you can find sources of inspiration on the red carpet that aren't too "out there".
This picture below shows Jeff Bridges with an array of lovely ladies (I'm guessing they are family since they seemed to coordinate their gowns) but the stunner in purple on the right caught my eye. Not only does she look dressed up, elegant and classy but most importantly she manages to look as comfortable as she is lovely. Doesn't she look great pregnant?
Lastly is miss best actress herself, Natalie Portman. Now normally her style just doesn't do it for me at all and I had been watching her this awards season and hadn't been too impressed. But on her night, I thought she looked really lovely and flattering. The plum colored, off shoulder Rodarte gown she wore was flattering and the tassel earrings were a nice touch. Personally I think pregnant bodies look best and most comfortable in something draped and with some support up top like a sleeved or off-shoulder look. Natalie finally wore both and I think she finally got it.
Stay tuned tomorrow for an entire post dedicated to Anne Hathaway's many looks!
