WhimsyBride Favorites: Alfred Angelo Vintage Modern Bridal collection

I hadn't checked in with Alfred Angelo in a while so their new Vintage Modern Bridal collection was news to me!  The collection states "Old World meets new in our timeless collection of contemporary gowns" and true to form there are many classic elements.

The first is a strapless sweetheart neckline A-line gown.  It has gathered net overlay skirt and detail bodice and waist.

Style no. 8500

The next is an all-over lace overlay gown with illusion neckline and cap sleeves.  The bias cut, no waist design has a v-neckline and deep scoop back finished with buttons.

Next is another soft sweetheart neckline, A-line gown.  This one also features a net overlay skirt with the overlay gathered at the bust and bodice, producing a great draped effect.  The detail waist helps cinch the look.

Style no. 8503

This next style is a version of the above gown, with the addition of a covered illusion style neckline.  The cape-like coverer features a sheer net neckline that is finished in a floral border along the bust and sleeves.  The sheer and floral detail of this gown strikes me as pretty but dated.

This crumb-catcher style strapless neckline is so unique that it really stands out from the collection.  It has an embellished empire waistline with a sheer net skirt overlaid above a mermaid style silhouette.

Style no. 8504

This A-line gown features an off-the-shoulder lace neckline over a sweetheart bodice.  The natural waist gown also features a fun tiered net skirt, which is probably the best feature of the dress.  To be perfectly honest the bodice and neckline of this gown seem a bit dated as well, perhaps due to the off-shoulder detail or the lace detail, I'm not sure.

 

Style no. 8506

This gown is probably my favorite and its probably because of that amazing illusion lace back with keyhole detail!  The all-over lace overlay mermaid gown is a sleeveless style that also features a v-neck and illusion straps in the front.

Style no. 8507

I love the creamy ivory color of this last mermaid style gown.  It features a soft sweetheart strapless style with pretty little pleated detail along the neckline.  The pleating is also echoed in the bodice of the dress, with pleated sunburst bust and diagonal pleating down the length finishing off with a decorative textured skirt.
